How can we update and improve the therapy?

What’s this about?

We want to update our therapy to make it better for more people. This includes people with advanced Parkinson’s, Parkinson’s with dementia, and atypical Parkinsonism.

What will we talk about?

  • What conversations are like for different people

  • What “better” conversations mean to you

  • What support is needed to help conversations be more successful and enjoyable

  • What’s missing from our current therapy

  • How we can make therapy motivating

What you can add:

We need the thoughts and experiences of people living with Parkinson’s, people who talk regularly with or care for someone with Parkinson’s, and speech and language therapists. We would like to chat with people with Parkinson’s and other conditions, such as dementia, and people with advanced Parkinson’s. We also will include people with Parkinson’s-like conditions, such as Lewy Bodies and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

This will help us improve the therapy and its resources (videos, website, handouts).

You will:

  • help shape therapy that could support many others

  • build strong connections with the team and other members

  • be part of something meaningful, where your voice really matters

What will it look like?

  • Around 5 half days (or the same time spread out)

  • Meetings from Spring to Winter 2026

  • You      help decide how and when we meet

  • You’ll be part of a team making decisions that will directly impact the therapy

  • You can get free training in co-production (working together as equals in research)

Please get in touch with us if you need information, support or if you have a general query. We look forward to hearing from you.
